For our production of Firebringer, we wanted to do something different than the original caveman themed production by Starkid. The production team decided we would set our version in a post-apocalyptic earth, where humanity had been completely reset and had to rediscover and re-learn pretty much everything. We called this concept "Trashtopia" and proceeded to design the show with recycling and sustainability in mind. The set was primarily made with these recycled materials. As for the lighting, we dug all of our old Strand's and Altman's out of storage, gave them some maintenance and used those for a majority of the lighting fixtures. We also included shadowplay and puppetry to enhance the storytelling aspects of the show, including a massive 5 piece puppet for the villain of the show, Snarl, created by Co-Scenic Designer and Properties Designer Maren Friemann.
